The School of Science and Technology (SST) is a tuition free, high performing, PreK-12 college preparatory public charter school system that focuses on science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). College prep begins in kindergarten and STEM concentration begins in the fourth grade.

SST is a public school open to all students PK-12 in San Antonio, Corpus Christi and Houston. As a public charter school, SST abides by all the standards established by the Texas Education Agency.

A RATING DISTRICTS

Of the 1200 districts in Texas only 153 earned this high honor. SST districts received an A in all measured categories. All SST campuses meet and exceed the standards set by TEA(Texas Education Agency).

CHARACTER MATTERS

All SST schools participate in the national Schools of Character program. Two SST campuses have earned the Texas School of Character designation. Character education is integrated into all classes to support socio-emotional development.

SST Child Find Policy

It is the policy of SST Schools to ensure that;

  1. All children with disabilities enrolled in the charter school or who contact the charter school regarding enrollment, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated; and
  2. A practical method is developed and implemented to determine which children are currently receiving needed special education and related services.

These requirements apply to highly mobile children with disabilities (such as migrant and homeless children); and children who are suspected of being a child with a disability under 34 CFR 300.7 and in need of special education, even though they are advancing from grade to grade.
